Small House Journal/Medicine Wheel
Amazing that the medicine wheel I constructed with friends and family is still there after all these years. Small but special.
For information on medicine wheels I recommend The Medicine Wheel:Earth Astrology by Sun Bear and Wabun. My copy was printed in 1980 by Prentice-Hall. It’s still in print. Ask about it at your local independent bookstore.

Building Supplies
I made a stop at the Habitat for Humanity store in Pittsboro the other day. They have two stores on 64 W. One has furniture and housewares, the other has building supplies and appliances. That’s the one I headed for.
Great fun wandering through looking at lots of doors and windows and bins of cabinet hardware and all manner of things.
I was told that they always get plenty of windows, some brand new or only very slightly used. That could save a lot of money because I plan on having as many windows as I can squeeze in and still have some wall left. I’ll be haunting that place once the time is right.

Perc Sites
It percs like a charm, in several places.
I’ll pick up the Improvement Permit, probably next Tuesday, and put in for Construction Authorization of a gravity fed septic system. Then its on to dowsing for a well site.
Flagging the site
Kerry helps put the flags in place to mark out the proposed house site.
Next step today is to go to Environmental Health in Pittsboro to submit my Improvement Permit application. I had to draw a site plan. Did the best I could, hope it’s enough.
